The Residence in Great Yarmouth is the newest, most upmarket addition to the resorts night time attractions. Situated on North Drive behind the Hollywood Cinemas on the sea front the former nightclub has been transformed into an VIP lounge style venue. The Residence is a new concept for the resort, not just a disco, it has comfortable fabulous seating and you can actually talk a-mid a fantastic atmosphere. A lot like a five star exotic hotel lounge.
The Residence’s sumptuous décor and decoration has huge circus paintings by local artist Bruer Tidman, hand crafted furniture and lamps from Marrakech, original features like a giant specially created wall clock and unique antique furniture pieces and even its own well-stocked library recalling a bygone age.
It’s like a cross between a large private residence, a New York jazz club and a fabulous lounge deep in the Medina

The World famous Great Yarmouth Hippodrome Circus main summer season starts  Wed 14th July to Sunday 4th Sept plus extra dates until 19th September. More details as we know them.

Shows on this winter are -  Fri 5th and sat 6th of March - The Circus of Horrors, 'The Day of the Dead',  Soloist: Nikolai Demidenko, Piano on Sun 21st March, Sat 27th March, The Norfolk County Youth Orchestra,   European Union Chamber Orchestra on Mon 26 April.

WHAT ELSE YOU CAN DO AT THE TREVROSS IN GREAT YARMOUTH.

We are near the following events and place. Often Buses are available, we can arrange a taxi and some are within walking distance. Call Eddie for travel Information.

Great Yarmouth Horse racing, is a 5 minute Drive. Click here for their website for dates and races

The Pleasure beach is one of the Premier Attractions in the UK. With the Worlds oldest operating Wodden roller coaster its a great day out. 15 mins to walk there or take the seafront Horse carriage rides or the seafront Fun Train. Wristbands make it a cheap stay as long as you like day out for all the family.

Great Yarmouth Stadium is a 5 minute drive. With a modern premier Greyhound stadium that also has regular stock car racing and is open all year round together with the excellent Raceview restaurant it is a great night for single, couple and has special deals for parties. If you book this for your visit ask Eddie and he can arrange transport for your party.

Yesterday's world is just 5 mins form the hotel and is a marvellous collection of items that the whole family can see. It also has a period cafe' at the front.

Thrigby Hall Wildlife Gardens is a short drive from the Trevross. It is a progressive Zoo and attraction and a great day for all the family.

The Sea Life centre on the sea front is a 10 minute stroll from the Trevross. With a wide range of Sea creatures and some Sharks its a great trip for those who love or are fascinated by the sea.

Norfolk Museums run many Great Museums in Great Yarmouth. Many are within walking distance from the Trevross. Including the new Time and Tide museum, Elizabethan house, the Nelson Museum,  The Toll House - a medieval gaol and much more. Great Yarmouth was once a Roma Out post, and most of the town was formed on a sandbank that arrived in the 13th Century. From about 20 mins by Road you reach the world famous Norfolk Broads. not much needs to be said about the Norfolk broads. Tey have to bee seen. Whether you are just have a day trip to view them from the banks in one of the idyllic Norfolk towns, to renting a sailing or Motor boat for a day or longer trip its one place in the UK that you have to add to your list of "done that - been there" items. The Model Village on the seafront is 10 minutes form the Trevross and is having a renaissance under new owners. Its a must see for all the family.

The Market gates shopping centre has been greatly updated with a new Debenhams. Right next door is the Market place with its world famous chips and also a visit to Palmers Department store is recommended, Not many traditional style stores like these are left. All just 5 mins from the Trevross.

Amazonia - World of Reptiles is just along the Seafront about 10 minutes from the Trevross. A great selection of Butterflies and reptiles to be seen.

The world famous Pleasurewood Hills theme park is around 20 mins form the Trevross. With great white knuckle rides, stuff for the kids, small and large and some great food to be had its a superb day out for all the family.

Clubbing, Consuming Alcohol and generally having a good time In Great Yarmouth

Just along the front, in fact all these places are within staggering distance of the Trevross! And as you have 24 hour own key access, and we have a water machine in the hotel lobby and bottled water in the room we are doing what we can to minimise the headache in the morning. Some venues offer party deals for Stag, hen and group parties for Trevross residents. Call Eddie for the latest information and we can arrange it all. Whether its a special song, a mention on the PA from thee DJ, private area or some party booze we will try to sort it for you.

The Albion Public House is 2 mins form us and probably the best pub in the town!! with Karaoke and sport on the big screens its a great base for your stay. Join there Facebook group here or add them as a friend and keep up to date with the latest news. Your Pics could be on the website.

The Arena complex on the seafront is 5 mins (sober) and has a range of bars and attractions. Including the Ceasers bar, Bar-Chic, Club 33 and more. We have special deals for groups so Ask Eddie when booking and and your VIP entrance will be sorted. Free tickets, moved around the venues and free booze for parties.

2 mins away on the Seafront is the Britannia Pier and its 2 great bars. The pier Tavern at the front and Long Johns at the back. A must do on your bar crawl. Add them as a facebook Friend here.

The Angels Gentleman's Club is just around the corned. Lap dancing in a discreet smart atmosphere. Groups welcomed.

The Long bar complex is the closest venue to the Trevross. Open till almost dawn, there is the Famous Long Bar with probably the longest bars in the work and Bar X just next door.

Also round the corner and opposite the Pier tavern is the Pub on the Prom, great bar with food and open late.

OUtTHERE INTERNATIONAL ART FESTIVAL

A International festival for Great Yarmouth. ou‘tThere’ took place in the half-term week of October 2008 for the first time. It returned in 13th of September 2009 until the 20th of September 2009, combining international, UK, regional and local cultural practitioners and groups, public performance and spectacular street shows, projections and illuminations, venue based events, music, dance, theatre, film, circus, an international food festival and wide range of participatory and spectator experiences crossing the arts, sports, heritage, culture and education. With over 30 professional acts, 90 performances and 600 performers it was a major event for Great Yarmouth. We were pleased to provide accommodation for many of the administrative staff behind the festival.

Parking Permit Scheme in Great Yarmouth

The new parking permit scheme for Great Yarmouth came in to effect on the 1st of Feb 2007. This effects a large area near the hotel and most of the tourist area of Great Yarmouth. Basically there is some 24 hour parking and the rest requires a permit. We have obtained some visitor permits already. The scheme is only in effect from 8am to 6pm. The wardens are not usually here too early. So for overnight visits it is not a problem. For longer stays please check the best arrival time for a spot. We also have access to an area not in the scheme. There are changes planned for 2010, we will keep you updated here as we find out the changes.

As always you are welcome to give us the keys and we will park your car and move it if necessary. that's what they cost us to replace. This is not required for pre-booked accommodation where we hold your card details. A signed receipt is required for all permits. We also have some day permits as well which do not require a deposit.

The UK is now Smoke free!! - What's happening at the Trevross Hotel.

We believe in freedom and choice. If you want to smoke then that is entirely up to you. But if you do not smoke you should not be affected by second hand smoke. We agree with the new law and the Trevross Hotel will allow smoking in your bedroom. The Trevross does not allow smoking in the common areas, halls, landings, stairs etc and now we do not allow smoking in the resident lounge. You CAN smoke in your bedroom or out side the hotel. We use special odour neutralisers and air refreshers throughout the hotel to avoid any unpleasant smells.

We introduced some Non Smoking rooms in 2008. These rooms have been completely redecorated and are now designated no smoking. We are adding some more for 2010/11 - Please feel free to ask for either a smoking room or Non smoking room. We cannot guarantee it on arrival so its best to ask when booking.

The New East Port Outer Harbour Development

It was announced in late May 2007 that Eastport The new £85M outer harbour development was starting in summer 2007. This massive project will greatly increase the business climate of Great Yarmouth. It is almost now complete and opens in Spring 2010. This will put some pressure on the transport structure until the 3rd river crossing and other road improvements are completed but will improve the area greatly. However whilst in construction there will be a shortage of rooms in the area as the workers will have to be accommodated. Many seasonal hotels and guest houses are planning to take workers for the duration of the build at the expense of the tourists. At the Trevross Hotel we have decided to take a balanced view. Many workers will only be here during the week so this will not effect our weekender traffic, also we do not plan to take long term workers at the expense of the summer season tourists. We have gained many friends and regulars and we aim to build on this.

Great Yarmouth wins a provisional Regional casino Licence

The government has green lighted our regional casino. This will be a all round attraction and will add to our existing entertainment provisions. ALSO the Palace Bingo hall has completed a multi Million pound redevelopment to become the first smaller Casino in the area and is now open. The first planning application for a regional casino is now in and it is expected that the winning bid will be announced within 2 years.

Great Yarmouth Is getting Great Again

Great Yarmouth is currently undergoing a major investment of £16.5m via the www.integreatyarmouth.org.ukprproject with funding from the EU, EEDA & the Lottery. During winter 2006 the road system near the hotel changed as Regent Road is now pedestrianised and part of the seafront was revamped. The main phase was completed by Whitsun 2006. The second phase, was started in September 2006 extended the new style seafront from Britannia pier to St peters road & was completed by Easter 2007. The final phase extending the scheme the rest of the way down the seafront towards the Pleasure Beach has now finished.

We love pets, boiled, fried or roasted. We are happy to accept pets. We charge a deposit which is fully refundable in the event the pet doesn't decide to leave a deposit of its own!

Free Pickups

We are very happy to pick you up by prior arrangement at the Coach, Train or bus stations. Just let us know and we will be there. Our main car can take 4 passengers and loads of luggage. We have a secondary car if needed.(check our terms page for more info)

Our cheap rates start from £15 per person per night for room only booking depending on the time of year and length of stay.  We offer discounts for longer stays. We have a travel cot and a put up bed which can be used in emergencies and for children, we do not usually charge extra for this.

AND FINALLY PLEASE NOTE

Great Yarmouthdoes not have as much guest accommodation, Hotel, Guest houses and holiday beds as it used to have. Bank holidays and special events, e.g., Beach pop concerts, festivals, Horse racing, etc, prices for accommodation can rise as the availability drops. This especially effects single and family rooms. Also the new Outer harbour is being built from early 2007 until early 2009 and this will bring many contract workers into the town which will further reduce the rooms available.

To ensure you have guest accommodation for your holiday or stay, and are not ripped off it is best to book early so you are not disappointed. Some Hotel and guest house really put the prices up for people booking their holiday or stay late.

We are not en-suite, but are undergoing continual refurbishment and improvements, the winter of 2008 has seen major improvements in our rooms and we are continuing the good work.
